MAY 2026 newsletter
Welcome to East Suffolk Trust’s May newsletter. In April we have been busy meeting with prospective grantees and reviewing our first applications for funding. We have enjoyed hearing about the array of plans for nature recovery in East Suffolk and the wider county.
Just a brief newsletter from us this month. We’re at the Suffolk Show tomorrow, so do let us know if you’d like to chat. And we’ve published our committee meeting dates for 2026, which will help with those of you thinking about application timings. And finally, I’ve flagged our emerging social media pages, please do give us a follow.
I hope you’re enjoying the warm weather, and getting out in nature.
Warm wishes,
Lewis Spurgin, Chief Executive
SUFFOLK SHOW
Tomorrow we will be at the Suffolk Show. We don’t have an East Suffolk Trust stand, but we will be out and about, meeting as many people as possible.
If you’d like to catch up with us tomorrow, please do reach out via enquiries@eastsuffolktrust.org and let us know so we can arrange to meet. We’d love to talk!
key dates for APPLICATIONs
We are open year round to receive Expressions of Interest (EOIs).
We encourage all applicants to have an informal conversation with us to discuss their project before submitting an EOI. Please do get in touch if you’d like to arrange a meeting. Once submitted, EOIs are reviewed and a decision taken as to whether to progress to a full application.
Full applications are reviewed by our Board of Trustees who meet four times a year to discuss applications and make a decision regarding funding. The Board of Trustees also make decisions on whether to progress large EOIs (over £500,000).
Forthcoming meetings are due to take place on:
5th June 2026 (deadline for full applications 9AM on 18th May)
4th September 2026 (deadline for full applications 9AM on 16th August)
20th November 2026 (deadline for full applications 9AM on 1st November)
Application Guidelines and FAQs are available on our website. Alternatively, please do contact us to arrange a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you.
